Cyte

A visual, searchable knowledge base of your screen time
Cyte gives you the ability to search your entire digital history from your desktop apps to your browser usage, helping you to scroll through your digital history, find the exact moment you are looking for, summarize work, locate content without precise keywords, and connect information from various sources, identifying hidden patterns and relationships. It is self-hosted, private and secure, intelligent, configurable, open-source, and supports usage monitoring and search by text contained within any application. Cyte works on macOS running at least Apple M1 or Intel Core i7. It allows users to delete any recordings they don't want saved, filter by the application or website, seamlessly return to their active document or website by clicking the "Resume" button, and share their memories with 1-click timelapse generation. Users can also chat with Cyte, choose the data they send to Open AI, and contribute to this project or customize to their specific needs. The app is currently only available for MacOS and supports only English language. Your personal data is stored locally within a folder of your choosing, by default in your Application Support directory. You can select applications which will not be recorded, and you can always temporarily disable recording via the Menu Bar, or shut down Cyte and reopen later.
